DMCA & Copyright Policy
Upmoviez respects creators, rights holders and lawful uses of creative work. This page explains how to identify content, send a clear copyright concern and help us review it responsibly.
Respect for creative work
Upmoviez publishes movie reviews, entertainment news, release guides and editorial commentary. We recognise that films, photographs, artwork, written articles, music, video and other creative materials may be protected by copyright or related rights. We aim to publish material that we create, are authorised to use, or may lawfully reference for purposes such as identification, reporting, criticism or commentary. A film review mentioning a title does not mean that Upmoviez owns the film or is affiliated with its producer, distributor or platform.
If you believe content on this site infringes a right you own or are authorised to represent, please tell us exactly what material is involved. Clear, specific notices help us locate the issue and evaluate it rather than guessing which page or item is in dispute.
How to report potentially infringing content
Email [email protected] and use the subject line Copyright Notice. Include a direct link to each Upmoviez page where the material appears. If the concern relates to a specific image, passage or embedded item within a page, describe where it can be found. A homepage link alone may not be enough to identify the content.
Please identify the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed. If the work exists online, provide the official or original URL when available. Explain whether you are the rights holder or an authorised representative, and include enough contact information for us to ask a reasonable follow-up question. Do not send unrelated personal documents or confidential materials that are not needed to identify the work.
Notice checklist
A formal copyright notice may need specific information under the law that applies. To help our review, include the following where relevant:
- Work identification: identify the copyrighted work you say has been infringed; when multiple works are involved, provide a representative list if permitted.
- Exact location: include each Upmoviez URL where the challenged material is visible and describe the specific item.
- Your relationship to the rights: state whether you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.
- Contact information: provide a usable email address and the contact details required for a formal notice under applicable law.
- Good-faith statement: explain that you believe the disputed use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent or applicable law.
- Accuracy and authority: where a law requires them, include the required statement that the notice is accurate and that you are authorised to submit it, together with any required signature.
Legal requirements vary by jurisdiction and by the kind of claim. This checklist helps us understand a report; it does not guarantee that a message qualifies as a complete statutory notice in every country.
How we review a notice
After receiving a report, we aim to review whether the request identifies a specific item, explains the asserted rights and provides enough information to assess the concern. We may ask for clarification if a URL is missing, the copyrighted work is unclear, the sender’s authority is not explained or the material cannot be located. A message that does not identify the relevant content may take longer to review.
Depending on the facts and applicable law, we may remove or restrict access to the challenged material, edit an item, request more information or determine that the notice does not establish a basis for action. A request is not automatically proof of infringement, and a disagreement with an editorial opinion is not automatically a copyright violation. We consider the specific material and the information provided.
We cannot promise a fixed response time, a particular outcome or that every notice will result in removal. If a report concerns a serious and clear issue, please state the reason for urgency and include the most precise supporting information you have.
If material was removed in error
If you believe material was removed or restricted because of a mistake or misidentification, contact us at [email protected] with the page URL, the action you are questioning and an explanation with supporting information. If the situation falls under a statutory counter-notice process, the applicable law may require specific contact details, statements, consent to jurisdiction or other formal elements. An informal email may not substitute for a legally valid counter-notice.
We may share a copy of a notice or relevant details with the affected uploader, submitter or another party when reasonably necessary to assess the claim, explain the action or meet a legal requirement. Please do not include unrelated confidential information. Anyone considering a formal counter-notice should review the governing rules carefully and consider legal advice, because such a notice can have legal consequences.
Use the process responsibly
Please send notices in good faith and identify the material accurately. Before submitting a claim, consider whether you own or are authorised to represent the rights, whether the exact use is correctly identified and whether a licence, permission, public-domain status or applicable copyright exception may be relevant. A negative review, criticism or reference to a film title is not by itself proof of infringement. Our purpose is to investigate genuine rights concerns, not to decide ordinary disputes about taste or opinion.
Submitting knowingly false or materially misleading claims may have legal consequences under applicable law. If you are unsure whether a use infringes a right, describe the concern honestly and avoid statements you cannot support. Upmoviez cannot provide legal advice or determine a disputed legal question conclusively from a short email.
Preventing recurring copyright problems
We aim to review credible copyright concerns promptly and take appropriate steps when a problem is identified. Where legally and operationally appropriate, repeated or clearly substantiated complaints about the same source may lead us to remove, replace or restrict the relevant material and reconsider how that material is used in future. Any action depends on the facts, the available evidence and the law that applies.
Entertainment reporting may identify films, performers, studios and distributors by name. Such references are intended to tell readers what an article is discussing. They do not imply that a rights holder has approved, sponsored or endorsed Upmoviez. We also aim to use images and other visual materials responsibly and to review a specific image URL when a rights holder raises a concern.
How notice information is handled
Information submitted in a copyright notice is used to understand the claim, contact the sender if clarification is needed, assess the affected page and keep a reasonable record of the action taken. Some notice information may need to be shared with the party affected by the claim or disclosed where required by law. Please provide only the information reasonably necessary for a formal notice and do not send payment credentials or unrelated sensitive details.
For general copyright questions, you can email [email protected]. For information about the processing of messages and technical website data, read our Privacy Policy. Public articles can be read without creating an account or registering with Upmoviez; submitting a rights notice is a separate, voluntary contact process.
Scope and limitations
This page describes our general copyright-review process and is not legal advice. It does not claim that Upmoviez has appointed or registered a statutory designated agent in any particular jurisdiction unless that separate designation has been completed and can be independently confirmed. A formal notice may be subject to requirements beyond those described here. Please consult the applicable law or a qualified professional if you need advice about rights, notice validity or counter-notice consequences.
We may update this policy when the website’s procedures or applicable requirements change. We aim to handle rights requests carefully, communicate as clearly as practical and respect both copyright owners and lawful editorial expression.
